Every day, without fail, ever since she was let loose from the infirmary, Katya has been searching for a way out of the Bar at the end of the Universe. Perhaps it isn't healthy, this refusal to believe what Olga's already told her bluntly, but...

She wants to go back.

So she's out again today, trudging through the woods, her hands stuffed into her pockets, delicately skirting the more muddy areas.

The world of the Twilight is utterly bizarre. Even Others know this - the blazing sky, the grayed out surroundings, the blue moss growing here and there and sometimes everywhere.

Being sent into the Twilight by a stronger foe is even more bizarre. She knows her body hurts - there's an ache she didn't quite leave behind when she was shoved out of the human world. She's lost track of the common landmarks of Moscow, and has been wandering for what feels like forever. It's getting harder to move - the Twilight is sucking away her warmth, her strength, leaving only aching cold.

Panic is starting to set in. Despite all her training, she can't get free of the Twilight's grey grip, she can't find any of the Nightwatch to help, and she knows that soon... she'll never leave.

1) She doesn't really remember that much about being human, other than brief impressions. Of course it seems fantastic, but that's because she has been Other for over fifty years, and was only Human for six and a few months.
2) She still thinks Freddy Mercury was hot as hell, and that it is a tragedy he didn't prefer girls. She would have done him in a heartbeat.
3) It hurts changing back into human form. It really does.
4) She can walk down to third level of the Gloom, but it takes effort, and she's not entirely comfortable there. She can, on the other hand, fight just as well on first and second levels as she can in the real world.
5) She is more attached to her attack dogs than to many Light Others.
6) She trusts Gesar whole-heartedly. She hasn't yet reached the stage of realizing the man is a manipulative bastard.
7) When she was learning to shift for the first time, she tried for a solid month to become a wolf. She really wanted that. Since she was nine at the time, it was rather heartbreaking to realize she made a really crap wolf.
8) She kind of hates being around hurt people. Well. Hurt people she didn't create herself. Because every time she knows she should be able to do something about it, like a sort of instinctive muscle memory, but it's all so ridiculously underpowered thanks to her training she feels worse than useless in that situation.
9) If Bear ever said anything, she'd be open to a relationship. But he doesn't, and she puts too much stock in their partnership to go and suggest anything he might be offended by, so... frankly, the pair of them are kind of idiots.
10) She's still Tiger Cub because Semyon nearly gave himself a hernia laughing when a defiant twelve-year-old Katya tried to insist on being called 'Tigress'. So much for that.
11) She likes motorcycles best of all.
12) This woman should never be allowed to own a Bedazzler. Ever.
13) She's an equal-opportunity alcohol drinker, though she does like the fizzy pop of champagne.
14) She was once told about her death, obliquely, by a very underpowered Dark Other. Something else he said came true, which made her very very very paranoid about personal security. This is why her house is ridiculously over-the-top protected. And all of that was pretty much useless in the end anyway.
15) Right up until she died she was invited, from time to time, to have tea and cakes with Gesar. Every time she feels that she is approximately seven years old. It's something reassuring, like going to Sunday Dinner at your grandparents' house.
16) The two things she's going to worry about the most when ending up at Milliways is her dogs and Yulia. And those two things will swap order of precedence frequently.
17) She does take shift after shift after shift (canon), but she does this because, at least subconsciously, she thinks that if the Light could only gain the upper hand and win, she could try her hand at what she's naturally good at. Maybe. Just a little. She doesn't actively think about it, though.
18) Five more minutes and that witch she mauled in part one of Nightwatch would have been dissolved in the Twilgiht.
19) Yulia reminds her a little of herself - a lot of Others in their area aren't found until they're adults, especially as the active threat of death as a child decreases. She's glad the girl most likely will never be called upon to do active field service. Analysis (when you're not Anton) is pretty safe stuff.
20) That hasn't stopped her from teaching the girl a few basic (and not-so-basic-and-actually-pretty-dirty) combat tricks. There's safe, and then there's stupid.
21) She does not fight clean. She fights to win. And if that means when fighting a male Dark Other she has to reach down and castrate the boy to get the upper hand... well. He won't be needing those anyway, once she's done.
22) She didn't think she'd ever enjoy fighting, when she started training for it. But she did it with a will, having been brought up with a strong socialist ideology.
23) She doesn't remember her parents at all. She knows she had some, but she doesn't remember them.
24) When she was put through the training to learn when to speak, and who to, and to generally not leak all information to anyone with ears, she was one of the few who very nearly did have a mental breakdown. She left quite a lot of skin on the top of that metaphorical razor wire fence.
25) Sometimes she just has to go burn off energy or she feels that her head might explode. This is another reason for the ridiculous amount of warding put up around her property - she doesn't want some stupid human wandering through at the wrong moment.
26) All Others pick up a hobby over time - one of hers is collecting ancient weapons. There's a never-ending variety in the way people try to kill one another.
27) She's naturally a very upbeat and cheerful sort of person, but when she's close to shifting that gets amplified - something about already having one foot over into the tiger form.
28) If it ever came down to open warfare between the Light and the Dark, she might not be the Other who would survive the longest, but she would be at least one of the Others with the highest body count to her name.
29) Given half a chance her hair will frizz like she stuck her finger in an electrical socket. She feels very much that this isn't fair.
30) She really truly loves the taste of kiwis. This may be partially because she can't get them very often. She's probably going to eat herself sick on those little fruits the first night she's in bar and fully cognizant of what is going on.
31) The first time she saw a former Other in the Twilight, she panicked and ran all the way back to the Night Watch headquarters. She forgot to leave the Twilight while running, so the little encounter resulted in her being used as an object lesson in how to rescue an exhausted Other from the Twilight. She was teased about that for years.
32) She's an avid fan of gorodki, especially when it's played in multiple levels of the Twilight at once. The fact that it's a game that lets her throw things at other things has nothing to do with it. >.>
33) When actively taking energy (something she's only had to do once, prior to her last fight) it registered as flavors - sweet marzipan, sparkling wine, the delicate flavor of rose syrup, rich sweetbread.
